Mission Statement

The Lions’ Chronicle is a student publication created by students for students. We strive to represent the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith by operating with truth, professionalism and integrity in all that we do. We believe that a publication has power to influence, inform and inspire our readers in hopes to impact their lives in a positive way.

About Us

Our staff is made up of students from all majors and disciplines of study. We welcome new staff members each semester with high hopes that the time they spend working on the Lions’ Chronicle will benefit both their education and their future career. Frequently Asked Questions

•    How can I join Publications Staff?
    
Publication Staff is a class that is offered in both Fall and Spring semesters. The class requires instructor consent to register. Prospective class members must contact the faculty advisor for the class: Dr. Bradley Wiggins to express interest in joining the class.

•    Can non-class members submit articles for publication?
 
Students, faculty, and alumni may submit articles for consideration to the managing editor at  lionschronicle@uafs.edu. All articles submitted will be reviewed for content, and will be published at the managing editor’s discretion.

•    What are the submission guidelines for Letters to the Editor?

Students, faculty, and alumni may submit Letters to the Editor in response to published content and commentary on campus events or other relevant campus news. Letters to the Editor will not be edited for content or form and will contain the author’s full name unless requested otherwise. The managing editor reserves the right to decide which submissions will be published and is not required to give notice of publication or non-publication to the author. To be considered for publication, letters must be sent from your uafortsmith email address. Please email your letters to lionschronicle@uafs.edu.

•    What are the submission guidelines for music files?

The Lions’ Chronicle wants to feature the work of student musicians. All files must be submitted in mp3 or mp4 format. All music must be the sole creation and property of the student and may NOT feature mixed music by any professional recording artist. Musicians submitting files give the Lions’ Chronicle permission to publish and promote at their discretion but the musician retains all ownership of files submitted. All music must be titled and have artist name. Please submit all music files to: lionschronicle@uafs.edu Subject: Student Music

•    What are the submission guidelines for classified ads?

The Lions’ Chronicle classified section is for the purpose of advertising student activity events, tutoring services, and books and school supplies for sale. The Lions’ Chronicle classified section will not publish ads for personal business advertising, household items for sale,  vehicles for sale or any other item that is not directly related to textbooks or school supplies. Ads are subject to approval by the managing editor. Classified ads that are published will remain for a total of  two weeks or 14 calendar days.  Please submit all classified ad requests to: lionschronicle@uafs.edu Subject: Classified Ad
