LITTLE ROCK, Ark – Arkansas Federation of College Republicans (AFCR) State Chairman, Skot Covert, issued the following statement regarding the visit of President Obama’s campaign manager Jim Messina to Arkansas for re-election events hosted by Gen44 (the youth branch of Obama's campaign):

“The failed policies of the Obama administration pose a direct threat to our generation’s chance at a prosperous future. Whether you consider the youth unemployment being double the national average at a staggering 18 percent or the President’s out of control spending and complete disregard for the nations 15 trillion dollar national debt being shouldered by our generation, Obama has done nothing more than deny young Americans the chance at a bright future. ”

AFCR calls on Obama’s front-man Jim Messina to answer why President Obama continues to burden the next generation with the consequences of his irresponsible governing. Why does President Obama insist on standing in the way of job creation?  At what point is deficit spending enough? Young Americans are looking for real reform and real leadership, not empty campaign rhetoric.

The Arkansas Federation of College Republicans is a charter of the College Republican National Committee. AFCR is actively engaged on campuses across the state, working to promote the Republican Party platform and assist Republican candidates running for office.
