How Much Information is Too Much?

 by Becca Imes

social security

So one guy walks into a bar, gets drunk, assaults another guy, and then gets arrested. They haul the first man off to jail and the entire incident becomes a matter of public record. But how much information should be made available to the public?

Photo: Applying for a social security number requires filling out a form and taking it (or mailing it), along with supporting documents, to the local Social Security office. SS-5 form available at http://www.ssa.gov/.

Parking Prohibited?

by Madison Macklin and Malia Putman

parking

Morning, 8:00 a.m., UA Fort Smith parking lots. Students in their cars troll through the parking lots, hoping to land a parking space. The competitors eyeball each other, trying  to outguess each other about which of the students casually walking down the middle of the parking lot are actually leaving.

UA Fort Smith – How Safe is the Campus?

by Steven A. Coppinger, M.S.
Adjunct Faculty, College of Humanities and Social Sciences

There are probably few people in the world who cannot recite the first few lyrics of Whitney Houston’s song “Greatest Love Of All.” If you have heard it, you know the song begins, “I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way….” Teaching students well and preparing them for their future leadership roles are two very important challenges facing university and college administrators today. Needless to say, learning comes much easier when university and college faculty, staff, and students feel safe on campus.
