Aside from the normal physical sports offered as part of the intramural activity, there are also two other options for those students who may not have the time or desire to devote to the more conventional sports such as flag football or 3-on-3- basketball.
Football Frenzy, which runs all semester, is a weekly football pick ‘em game designed to test your knowledge of both college and professional football. Entry forms and boxes are located at the main Sebastian Commons area, the Student Activities Office, the Academic Success Center, the Lions Den (North & South Buildings) and next to the bookstore in the campus center; and the completed entry forms are collected at the end of each week.
Scores are tallied at the end of the semester to determine a winner, but thanks to Greg Gilliam, Intramural Coordinator, we can post the current Top 12 (as of the week of November 3rd):
1. Jennifer Taylor
2. Jacob Lensing
3. Kelly Harrelson
4. Logan Williams
5. Cleve Davis
6. Wade Harris
7. Susan Cowen
8. Brad Answers
9. Daniel Fudge
10. Leslie Asbury
11. Zack Lensing
12. Cole Sullivan
According to Greg, there are numerous ties among the Top 12 so it is still anyone’s game.
The other option, Fantasy Football, is slightly more complex and requires a little more time (and knowledge) than just picking the winning team. Using Yahoo!’s Fantasy Football service, students create their own NFL team, draft players and manage their starting line-up. Points are earned based on the real-life results of NFL players, which are then used to determine the winner and loser of each of the “games” between the teams within the intramural league.
Fantasy Football ends on December 12 but, once again, we are pleased to post the Top 4 teams (as of November 3rd):
Rank - Team - Person Playing - Record
1. The Who (Rob Mayo), 7-1
2. Da Boys (Greg Gilliam), 7-1
3. Sigma Nu Serpents (Patrick Sullivan), 6-2
4. PackAttack (Wil Moon), 6-2
