“As we go on, we remember, all the times we had together, and as our lives change, come whatever,
we will still be friends forever” – Vitamin C
As we live our collegiate lives we meet people every day. Some we may just pass in the halls of UAFS, and some we may call our friends, but as everyday passes we find that some of these people are our friends forever. Even though we may call these people our friends forever, one thing will always stay true: some of the people that we call our friends forever will be our brothers and sisters for eternity. Greek Life at UAFS has come a long way in the past five years. We have seen Sigma Nu go from 32 active members in the Spring of 2011 to 52 in the Fall of 2013. We have seen Delta Gamma and Gamma Phi Beta strengthen their philanthropic contributions over 75%. We have also added many new greek organizations to the UAFS campus including Tri Sigma in the Fall of 2014. Spring 2014 will be no different for the Greek Community as they strengthen and grow.
This semester the Inter-Fraternal Council (I.F.C) at UAFS will start Spring Recruitment on January the 21st at 7pm. It will take place in Math/Science 304. Greek Life Coordinator Logan Davis says that “Each male going through IFC recruitment will have 20 minutes with each of the different fraternities on campus, and the final 15 minutes of the night’s showcase will be spent with the fraternity of each candidate’s choice.” The event will showcase Sigma Nu, Pi Kappa Phi, Kappa Sigma, and Kappa Alpha Order.
As the Inter- Fraternal Council at UAFS has a semi-formal recruitment the Pan-Hellenic Council at UAFS will be holding a Continuous Open Bid. COB is an informal recruitment held by the Pan-Hellenic Council after formal recruitment has concluded. This Spring’s COB participants are Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta, and Alpha Omicron Pi. For more information about Sorority Recruitment please contact any member of the sorority you plan to rush.
