It’s that time of the semester when students come to participate in the 11th annual Lion’s Community Outreach day. This event, April 19th at 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., gives students the great opportunity to provide philanthropic services for their community. If you volunteer you will get free snacks with a draw string backpack and a free t-shirt.
Each student will get an assignment and directions where they will need to go to help out. You will find a group of UAFS faculty and students there where a person of a selected organization will help you with what you need. UAFS students will help out with raking leaves, sorting clothes, washing windows, trimming trees, planting flowers, sorting canned goods, painting, and doing anything else that is needed.
“[UA fort smith] university students volunteer around town,” says Mariah Warren. “There are ten organizations we will be helping. It’s a fun event [and] it’s a great way to show UA Fort Smith students helping out. Anyone who is part of the university can help.”
To sign up for this event go to UAFS.edu/LCOD The deadline is Friday. If you need more information on this day contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 788-7697.
