UAFS Applause Currently Seeking Student Submissions

Applause, the UAFS creative writing and arts magazine, is currently seeking submissions of creative writing and visual arts for their 2014 publication. Submissions are open to any UAFS student enrolled during the 2013-2014 academic year and must be material that has not been previously published.

Submissions for the publication of written works are limited to three per student in each of the following categories: poetry, short story, one-act play, formal essay (cited sources), and informal essay. Each submission must be an original work and previously unpublished. There is a 2,000 word limit on all works of prose and a 100 line limit on works of poetry. For full submission guidelines or to submit your work (as an anonymous attached document), please email applause@uafs.edu.

Submissions for visual art publication are limited to three per student in each of the following categories: original artwork and photography. Each submission must be an original work and previously unpublished. The work must also be submitted in black and white and preferably with a 300 DPI resolution for best reproduction. For full submission guidelines or to submit your work (as an anonymous attached document), please email applause@uafs.edu.

Finally, Applause is also seeking original artwork for their 2014 Cover Contest. The winner of the 2014 Cover contest will have their work featured on the cover of the 24th volume of Applause and receive a $100 cash prize. Submissions of original artwork and cover design are limited to three per student. The design should feature the following aspects: the title of the magazine (Applause), the year (2014), and the volume number (24 or XIV). The cover of the magazine will be 6x9, so submissions should fall within those guidelines as well. For full submission guidelines or to submit your work (as an anonymous attached document), please email applause@uafs.edu.
